Ratings shmatings. Greg Grunberg says Heroes will be back next fall for a fifth season — and he’s got proof. “We wrapped yesterday and the [final episode] is nowhere near a series finale,” he told us at last night’s People’s Choice Awards. “It is cliffhanger-y and exciting, but it is nowhere near an end to a series that people are so invested in. It does not tie everything up in a neat bow… I don’t have any doubt that the show will be back.”
Grunberg cites Heroes‘ strong DVD sales and international success as two reasons the show will go on. “We will wrap it up properly in the next season and get to 100 episodes,” he maintains. “At least that’s what I would like to see happen. They take so much care in writing the show that I would hope we get the chance to end it right.
“Lost announced an end [date] and I think that helped both the people working on the show and the people watching it,” he continues. “They see the finish line and I think it gives them something tangible to invest in and be excited about. It’s like it’s a movie and they want to see the end of it. That’s what I hope happens with our show.”
Speaking of Lost, Grunberg confirms that his ill-fated Oceanic pilot will play a role in the show’s Feb. 2 season premiere. What’s the context? “Well, with [Lost], they go back and forth in time so you have no idea when and where the last season will take place,” he says. “I may get eaten all over again. It may be a flashback. It may be an alternate new reality where I am on the same flight but we don’t crash and I don’t get eaten. Maybe I’m a ghost. You never know.”

As their marriage unraveled, Jon and Kate Gosselin always insisted on one thing: They would make sure their kids got through it all unscathed. But that couldn't be further from reality. In an exclusive interview, the family's former nanny Stephanie Santoro tells Life & Style the children have been devastated by their parents' bitter breakup -- and the end of Jon & Kate Plus 8.
Cara, one of the couple's 9-year-old twins, "used to sit and cry to me that she didn't understand and thought it was her fault," says Stephanie. "I would always tell her, 'It's not your fault, it's just something that happened. Mommy and Daddy will tell you more.'" But Jon and Kate can't even stomach being around each other. As a result, their kids -- twins Cara and Mady, and the 5-year-old sextuplets -- have been left confused and traumatized. "Some of the younger children once asked me, 'Are you going to be our new mommy?'" Stephanie says. "They don't know better."
And the children are also coping with the loss of the Jon & Kate Plus 8 crew in the wake of Jon's unilateral decision to shut down the show. "Kate says the kids miss the crew," says Stephanie. "They grew up around them and loved interacting with the crew. I'm sure the kids are devastated."

Thom Yorke and TV on the Radio's Tunde Adepimbe are two of the big names contributing remixes and reinterpretations to the expanded edition of Liars' new record 'Sisterworld'.
The New Yorker release their fifth studio album on March 8th and were keen to get high-profile artists involved on the second CD.
Singer Angus Andrew said: “On this project we wanted to help develop and expand the role of the remix, particularly to engage artists less acknowledged for their work in the field.
“They were asked to 're-interpret' the song by any means necessary and the result is definitely the most exciting collaborative effort we've been involved in.”
Also contributing to disc two are Bradford Cox of Deerhunter and Atlas Sound fame, Melvins, Suicide's Alan Vega, Chris & Cosey from Throbbing Gristle and Blonde Redhead.

The Xmas Eve gun standoff between Gilbert Arenas and teammate Javaris Crittenton may have been caught on tape by surveillance cameras, law enforcement sources tell TMZ.
We're told the Washington Wizards have told D.C. cops they have locker room surveillance video but are having trouble downloading it. The Geek Squad -- aka computer-savvy detectives -- are going to the Wizards organization today to help.
And get this -- a source connected with the investigation tells TMZ the Wizards have been "over cooperative" with cops -- as the source says, "almost as if they want Arenas to go down."
The source says "there is a better than 50/50 chance the U.S. Attorney will issue a felony arrest warrant against Arenas."
As for what caused the confrontation that allegedly triggered a gun standoff -- law enforcement tells TMZ it was all over a card game known as Bourré.
The NBA suspended Arenas indefinitely yesterday and, as we first reported, Arenas didn't have a license for the guns.

Today the so-called "Long List" for the Orange British Academy Film Awards in 2010 was released. This is the preliminary to the actual nominations which are announced on January 21st. The result of Round One voting by members of the Academy which had 220 films entered this year, the first round of voting reduces the films down to 15 in each category. Round Two voting, which opens today, will reduce these down to 5 nominations in each category. Over 6000 members of the Academy vote in the three rounds, with final awards given out at the Royal Opera House on February 21st:

Last night, actress Amanda Seyfried landed in Los Angeles only to discover--after two hours--that the airline had lost her bag. Bummer!
Fortunately, Seyfried had her adorable canine to keep her company while waiting for the news. Still, better to lose your luggage than your dog!

Now, Hawke is joining the rush to cash in on vampire-mania, starring in Daybreakers.
Living forever isn't all it's cracked up to be.
"In the movie, I found it interesting that when my character is a vampire faced with the prospect of immortality he kind of becomes depressed. But, when he becomes human and knows he won't live forever, he's hopeful and energized. There's something about knowing life is finite that makes it so precious. I did wonder what I would do if I knew I was immortal. I guess what tops on my list would be riding a motorcycle and chain-smoking. So it can be seductive."

The loyalties between the superheroes of the Marvel Universe are apparently quite flexible, as Marvel Studios' "Thor" has officially moved in on "Spider-Man 4."
According to Variety, the Norse God of Thunder's big screen debut — originally set for May 20, 2011 — has been pushed two weeks earlier to May 6, 2011. The new date is the same as the original release date for Sony Pictures' "Spider-Man 4," the Sam Raimi-directed flick currently suffering through some delays that could put its release date in jeopardy.
With it now uncertain that Peter Parker's next adventure won't hit theaters on time as originally planned — though Sony has yet to officially move the release date — it seems that the powers behind "Thor" saw an opportunity for an early summer start.
Despite appearing like an act of internal rivalry, the report states that Paramount simply did not want to wait on an official release date change on "Spider-Man 4" in case other studios made the move first. This way, a Marvel movie still hangs onto the summer's opening weekend.
The report also notes that should "Spider-Man 4" not change its release date as is widely expected, "it's likely that 'Thor' would move."
Still, with Kenneth Branagh's take on the hammer-wielding hero rumored to begin shooting as early as Friday, it's a much likelier bet that "Thor" will arrive in theaters before "Spider-Man 4." Until Raimi and Sony can solve their current script problems, this is probably the best available solution for superhero fans everywhere.

AVATAR SURPASSES ROTK
Avatar has become the second highest-grossing movie of all time after just 21 days on release, says Deadline Hollywood.
James Cameron's 3D blockbuster is thought to have surpassed the box office totals of Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King last night. Avatar's worldwide gross now stands at more than $1.12 billion.
Cameron is now competing against himself for the number one spot. His 1997 film Titanic pulled in $1.84 billion on its theatrical release.
Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and The Dark Knight stand at numbers four and five respectively on the all-time box office list.

According to Tila Tequila's Twitter, heiress Nicky Hilton came to her house unannouced to collect Casey's belongings, which included her dogs. A video was recorded of the incident that includes a tearful Tila explaining that Nicky is indeed putting the dogs to sleep in order to bury them with Casey.
On Tila's website called "Tila's Hotspot", she posted a blog about these events and refers to Nicky and her friend as "mean girls". This blog is also where the video that was taken of the heart breaking scene. She also put together a video of pictures of both her and Casey to "Dreaming of You" by Selena.

President Ronald Reagan's 31-year-old grandson was arrested at his parent's home this morning in L.A. -- after someone pushed a panic button inside the house.
We're told when LAPD officers arrived at the home, Cameron Reagan -- son of political radio host Michael Reagan -- was screaming profanities at the cops.
Reagan was ultimately taken into custody at 12:20 AM. He was later booked at a Van Nuys jail on the misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest at 5:49 AM.
He's still in police custody.
It's not Cameron's first run-in with the law -- back in 1999 he was sentenced to six months in jail on charges of receiving stolen property for his role in two car burglaries.

Don't call Carrie Underwood a Bridezilla! 
The newly engaged country singer has some simple requests when it comes time to tie the knot with her hockey player fiancé Mike Fisher. "[I want] a groom, good food and an open bar," Underwood, 26, tells PEOPLE on the red carpet at the People's Choice Awards at Los Angeles's Nokia Theatre.
She may not know who's designing her wedding dress yet – or have picked a wedding date – but Underwood has some thoughts about how she plans to look on her big day.
"I'm Southern," she says. "I like big hair and eyeliner. I want my wedding day to be me, so I'll probably be rocking some big hair and some eyeliner."
Underwood, who just released her third album Play On, will kick off her tour in March – but she has a strategy for staying in touch with Fisher while they're apart. "We're big texters," she says. "We talk on the phone. I-Chatting, I don't know what we'd do without it to be honest – and face time is the most important."
As for her fiancé, Underwood says, "he looks good in pictures – but he looks better in person."

Troubled comic Artie Lange landed in the hospital after stabbing himself nine times in an apparent suicide attempt, sources told The Post.
Lange's frantic mom called 911 Saturday morning after she entered his Hoboken apartment and found the bloodied funnyman, a law-enforcement source said.
Lange sustained six "hesitation wounds" and three deep plunges. A source close to Lange's management team confirmed that the Howard Stern sidekick stabbed himself, adding that his mother had come to visit him that day to drop off food. Surgeons managed to save Lange despite heavy bleeding.
"We all have our demons," Stern said on-air this week, referring to Lange's past battles with addiction. "Artie has given this show tremendous moments of great comedy. He's a tremendous contributor. He is a good man. Don't forget how great he is."

Mariah is blaming it on the alcohol.
At Wednesday's People's Choice Awards, the diva was asked about her sloshy speech Tuesday at the Palm Springs International Film Festival awards gala.
"I don't even know what it was," she told reporters. "I heard clapping. You know, Lee [Michaels, Precious director] and I hadn't seen each other in a long time, and he started right in with all these inside jokes, and I was like, OK.
"We were celebrating and having little splashes, and I hadn’t eaten, and that's what it was. We were celebrating the movie and all the exciting stuff going on. There's a time for celebration and a time for not - but really technically, it's a party atmosphere. We had splashes of champagne. I love Lee, but he’s a bad influence."
Carey was the butt of jokes by Sean Penn and Jason Reitman, director of Up In the Air. "I think it feels just as good as Mariah Carey feels right now," Reitman joked onstage while accepting an award at the show. "I should really leave now. I don't think it gets better than that."

First grief, and now anger.
Casey Johnson's longtime girlfriend Courtenay Semel has broken her silence after the heiress's death to lash out at another woman close to Johnson – reality star Tila Tequila.
"The thing I find the most sickening is that the media is giving [her] the one thing she craves: attention. Tila, you knew her for a week," Semel tells PEOPLE.
Just weeks before Johnson was found dead in her Los Angeles home at age 30, Johnson made tabloid news when she said she was engaged to Tequila, the star of MTV's over-the-top matchmaking show A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila.
And it was the 28-year-old Tequila (real name Tila Nguyen) who announced Johnson's death on her Twitter page.
Since then, Tequila has posted a series of bizarre messages on Twitter about her relationship with Johnson, along with crudely worded attacks against gossip blogger Perez Hilton. (Tequila has declined interview requests).
Billy Bush, host of Access Hollywood, Tweeted in response, “Gross...claims 2 b mourning fiancée but seems 2 b pumping her new gossip blog.”
Semel, the daughter of the former chairman of both Yahoo! Inc. and Warner Bros., Terry Semel, had her own share of gossip-column-making spats with Johnson, but says the focus now should be on dealing with the loss.
“Casey is the love of my life and she's gone," Semel tells PEOPLE. "I will make sure the world will one day see all she wanted to give to it. I love you CJ with all my heart."

It’s been quite a journey for Precious star Gabourey Sidibe. Her critically acclaimed performance in the drama, alongside Mariah Carey, has already garnered her SAG Award and Golden Globe nominations along with plenty of Oscar buzz. In the February issue of Harper’s Bazaar, the 26 year-old, Brooklyn-born star dishes on her larger-than-life confidence, fashion philosophy and what she won’t do to fit in designer clothes.
Dressed in a slinky, red Tommy Hilfiger dress and strands of diamonds from famed jewelers Harry Winston, Kwiat and Chopard, she tells the magazine of her glam look, “I feel like a model.” And while Gabourey can pose for the camera like any seasoned pro, her confidence didn’t come as easily as it may seem.
“It came late, too late in my life,” she recalls of changing her attitude. “One day I decided that I was beautiful, and so I carried out my life as if I was a beautiful girl.”
And now, Gabourey goes for bold colors and glam gowns, including her favorite — the David Meister number she wore to the L.A. premiere of Precious. “It was so va va voom, my boobs looked so good in it. I had diamonds on too. Diamonds really do it.”
Other than show-stopping bling, Gabourey says, “I wear colors that I really like, I wear makeup that makes me feel pretty, and it really helps.” And even though Gabourey has traded Torrid for designer labels, she promises that she won’t be slimming down any time soon to fit into sample sizes.
“I hate yoga so much. Like if yoga was a person, I’d stab them,” she jokes. “It doesn’t make any sense to kill yourself, because who are you trying to be beautiful for? It’s a mind game, not a body game.”

Not ones to draw attention to themselves, our source tells us R-Patz, 23, and K-Stew, 19, were approachable and friendly, mixing with Ventnor locals and dancing 2009 away to the bar’s five guest deejays, who played a mix of everything from 80s rock, to modern punk.
“Rob and Kristen were totally normal,” the party-goer dished to HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “They acted like regular people and blended in with the regulars.”
About 130 people, ranging from 20 to 40-years-old, attended the bash … which might go down in the books as the cheapest New Year’s Eve party of all time — the bar charged $5 at the door and about $1.50 a shot! “People could come out here and get drunk as a skunk for cheap,” long-time Winter Gardens Manager, Dave, told us. (Yes, in any currency.) “Everyone was so drunk, that even though we had the license to go all night, we had last call at 1:30 a.m.!”
Notorious for their wild parties, Dave was thankful these Brits (including RP and his honorary Brit babe, Kristen) stayed in control: “The deejays got paid. The bartender got paid. It was excellent. It was really no trouble at all, just a good time,” he raved.
How was it having two of the most famous celebrities in the world at his bar? “I cannot believe there were celebrities right here at Winter Gardens! Maybe we’ll be put back on the map!” the excited Ventnor local said, noting that Queen Elizabeth II made a visit in 1965.

Jonathan Ross is quitting the BBC, he said today.
The controversial broadcaster is leaving after 13 years at the Corporation.
Ross has been one of the biggest faces at the BBC, with his Friday night chat show, his Radio 2 show and his film review programme.
His salary, a reported £18 million over three years, and the scandal over actor Andrew Sachs have recently caused controversy.
Ross, 49, said in a statement that he had decided not to renegotiate his contract when it ends at the end of July.

Ringo Starr's albums are usually laid back affairs, but that's definitely not the case with his new album, "Y Not," which will be released Jan. 12. The title may sound laid back, but the album certainly isn't. And that's the reason this album is one of his best in years, maybe his best since "Vertical Man."Although the original announcement of the album said Ringo was producing the album entirely, the credits in a proof of the CD booklet show he shares producing credits with Bruce Sugar. However, Ringo's press spokesman told us he did the bulk of production. After hearing "Y Not," it makes us hope he'll do a lot more of it in the future.
